I'm Back!

Hello to all my Idolators!!! Mr. Idol is back in action, so you all can rest easy. Sorry it has been a while but I wanted to wait until the initial audition episodes were done before doing my first OFFICIAL post of the season. Hopefully you all are following me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/idolmoments) and on Twitter @idolmoments where I randomly post thoughts and tidbits throughout the weeks.

We have had quite a buildup to the premier of season 10 with producer changes, judge changes, rule changes, ect, etc...but it seems (so far) to be paying off. I am pleasantly surprised at how much I am enjoying Steven and Jennifer on the judging panel. Steven is bringing the nutty/humorous Paula Abdul feel back and Jennifer seems to be the solid voice of reason and Randy is...well...Randy, dawg.

This season, it also seems we are being shown more good auditions then in the past, which is refreshing. In the past I would have posted with my favorites from each audition city, but I am not going that route this year mainly because of one thing....spoiler site. Yes, I hunted the info down and wanted to know who makes it in Hollywood. This has been helpful because, as we know, Idol does not show us ALL the good people during the audition cities and will usually wait until Hollywood or even the Semi Finals to spring them on us. However, this year, thanks to the spoiler sites who have listed the Top 40 that have made it so far in Hollywood, I have found a few gems that I am already rooting for, even though we have NOT seen them on TV as of yet.

So, based on the information I have between what we have been shown of the contestants, and what info has leaked on line about others we have not been shown, I am going to make my first blog of the season be a prediction blog. Yes, I am feeling ballsy and I am going to pick who I feel to be the Top 13 (because we MAY have 13, or even up to 15 finalists this season) contestants that should/could/will make it far. This list, as always, is based on a lot of things...talent, marketability, likeability/backstory and "pimping" (what the producers do to the viewing public to force someone down our throats). We must also remember that it has been said this season they are looking for a "pop star" to take home the title...so it is going to be about total package and having someone who is "moldable" (which could be why they reduced the age minimum to 15). Also, after a trifecta of male winners (David Cook, Kris Alen and Lee DeWyze), this season is a female's to lose. All things considered, THIS is who I feel the Top 13 contestants are out of those who have made it to the Top 40. Some you may have seen and some not. I will try and include links so you can check out some of the "unknowns" in the list.

So, there you have it. Only the next couple weeks will tell if my predictions are on point or not. Either way, we definitely have some great talent on our hands this season and it will be an exciting competition I believe. Tonight, we kick off Hollywood's "Hell Week" and we will start to get a glimpse of people's true talents...and colors.
